How can you work effectively with local governments to develop your passion project in a way that meets community needs? How can you ensure positive outcomes and foster positive relationships? How do you navigate uncomfortable issues or avoid pitfalls in a way that creates a positive experience for the community, your students, local leadership and YOU. The three esteemed local officials participating in this panel discussion are eager to discuss projects they’ve supported that involve university students and faculty. These city officials will get down to the nitty gritty, sharing success stories as well as projects that presented challenges. Additionally, they will discuss effective ways of communicating with local governments, funding sources they’ve successfully secured and the importance of promoting shared work between universities and communities.
